Dubai, no more flammable material on buildings

Dubai Municipality (DM) has banned the use of combustible materials in buildings, reports Arabic daily Al Bayan. DM has issued a circular necessitating all consulting offices, contracting companies, suppliers and developers in Dubai not to use flammable materials in buildings and cladding and facades. DM has also prohibited the use of any systems that would weaken resistance of the used materials to ignition, including thermal insulation materials like rockwool, polystyrene, bitumen and flammable installation materials are strictly banned. The Dubai Land Department has finally cracked the whip on investors who have not adhered to its repeated warnings of completing unit registration, Emirates 24|7 can reveal.
